Who is They? On language and identity is a photo exhibition I made together with the ethnologist and exhibition producer Emeli Holmström for Norrtälje museum and Norrtälje municipality. It is based on portraits and interviews with seven people who use the pronoun “hen” in Swedish – comparable to the English gender-neutral pronoun they – but also examines why the word evokes so many emotions.
